BMW unveils limited Z4 Final Edition to mark the model’s end of production. It’s based on the M40i variant and comes in an exclusive colour scheme.
BMW is concluding production of the Z4 roadster with a limited-run Final Edition based on the M40i variant. The special model will be built in very small numbers from February to April 2026, marking the end of the current generation.
No successor has been confirmed by BMW, although the related Toyota Supra is also set to end production in March 2026, with Toyota planning a replacement.
The Z4 Final Edition is offered in one variant only, and it's based on the M40i. However, customers can choose between an 8-speed Steptronic automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
The manual version includes the Handschalter Package, featuring unique software calibration for rear dampers, steering, traction control, and the M Sport differential. Power comes from the familiar turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine, producing 387 bhp and 500 Nm of torque.
All Final Edition models are finished in BMW Individual Frozen Black metallic paint with the Shadowline Package as standard, adding gloss-black trim to mirror caps, kidney grille, lower air intake, and exhaust finishers. The soft top is Moonlight Black, complemented by red brake calipers.
The interior features black Vernasca leather and Alcantara on the M Sport seats, with red contrast stitching on the instrument panel, centre console, floor mats, and door panels. Unique door sill plates identify the Final Edition.
Standard equipment includes the Driver Assistance Package, Harmon Kardon sound system, Premium Package with ambient lighting and head-up display.
