The entry-level variant of the Sealion 7 is now dearer by ₹50,000.
BYD India has declared a price increase of ₹50,000 for the Premium variant of the Sealion 7 electric SUV, effective from January 1, 2026. Consequently, this variant now costs ₹49.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The higher-end Performance variant remains unchanged in pricing.
To provide clarity for customers, the company has confirmed that all bookings completed on or before December 31, 2025, will be invoiced at older ex-showroom rates. New bookings from January 1, 2026, onwards will reflect the updated prices.
As per the brand, this adjustment accounts for ongoing investments in technology development, safety enhancements, and customer support infrastructure, while maintaining the vehicle's overall value proposition.
Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, commented that the revision aligns with changing cost factors in the industry. He emphasised that the Sealion 7 continues to offer a competitive package in the premium electric SUV category, supported by advanced platform, performance capabilities, and safety features.
Since launch, the model has achieved sales exceeding 2,300 units in India, indicating positive market response towards premium electric options.
The Sealion 7 has received industry acknowledgements, including the Luxury Mid-Size SUV title from Acko Drive.
Built on BYD's Cell-to-Body architecture with Blade Battery technology, the vehicle holds a 5-Star Euro NCAP rating. It features an 82.56 kWh battery, with the Performance variant offering 390 kW power, 690 Nm torque, and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds. The Premium variant provides 230 kW power, 380 Nm torque, and acceleration in 6.7 seconds, with a certified range up to 567 km under NEDC conditions.
BYD India also continues its One BYD Infinite Connections programme, allowing selected customers to visit innovation facilities in China. The company operates through 47 showrooms in 40 cities, offering sales, service, and charging support.
