Ceat Launches New Sportrad And Crossrad Radial Two-Wheeler Tyres

The Sportrad is designed for road use mainly, the Crossrad will cater to daily road use with occasional off-roading as well.

Ceat today launched the Sportrad and Crossrad steel radial tyres for motorcycles . Benefiting from a steel-belted radial construction, the Sportrad has been launched at ₹12,500 for a set, and the Crossrad will set you back by ₹4,300 for a set. 

The Sportrad has been launched in two sizes - 110/70ZR17 and 150/60ZR17, whereas the Crossrad will initially be available in just one size - 140/60R17.

“From extreme lean angles to high-speed stability, every aspect has been meticulously crafted to enhance the riding experience," explained  Arnab Banerjee, MD & CEO, Ceat about the new tyres. 

Ceat is the latest OEM to join this segment. Earlier, MRF launched the Steel Brace tyres which are now available as stock with the KTM 250 Duke, Triumph Speed 400, and the Ultraviolette F77. Apollo Tyres had launched its Alpha H1 series of steel radial tyres, and TVS recently debuted its Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres with the new Aprilia RS 457.

Ceat will also be launching Sportrad SS and TT variants later this year which will cater to high-performance, multi-cylinder motorcycles. These options will range from 160-section to up to 240-section. Similarly, Crossrad tyres with sizes ranging from 130-section up to 180-section will also launch at a later date. 

Alongside this launch, the Ceat Tyres also announced Indian racer Geoffrey Emmanuel as its first brand ambassador in racing. Geoffrey is be the first Indian rider who has competed in the FIM Junior World Championship riding in Moto3. He is also working towards participating in the MotoGP World Championship starting from the Indian MotoGP Bharat in September 2024.
