Bosch unveiled its new cockpit & ADAS integration platform, which is based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC.
At CES 2024, automotive suppliers Bosch and Qualcomm Technologies introduced the industry's first central vehicle computer capable of running infotainment and advanced driver assistance systems on a single chip. Bosch unveiled its new cockpit & ADAS integration platform, which is based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Ride Flex system-on-chip (SoC).
The Flex SoC allows digital cockpit, ADAS and automated driving capabilities to co-exist on a single piece of silicon. It enables automakers to realize a unified central compute architecture that can scale from entry-level to premium vehicles.
Leveraging the Flex SoC, Bosch's new integration platform can power in-vehicle experiences through infotainment, digital instrumentation, and ADAS functions like object detection, automated parking and personalized navigation. It can also process data from cameras, radar and ultrasonics.
The integration of Qualcomm Tech's Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC allows Bosch to offer automakers a single, scalable solution for both digital cockpits and advanced driver assistance. The new platform is on display at Bosch's CES booth through January 12th.
“The fusion of infotainment and ADAS functionalities on a single SoC is a milestone for the industry, offering a high performance, scalable solution for automakers to realize next-generation software-defined vehicles,” said Nakul Duggal, SVP and GM, Automotive & Cloud Computing at Qualcomm.
“With this cost-effective solution we are paving the way for bringing even more ADAS functions into vehicles, including in the entry-level and mid-range segment,” said Christoph Hartung, President of the Cross-Domain Computing Solutions division at Bosch.
