The Basalt X is the first vehicle by Citroën India to be launched with an in-car artificial intelligence system.
Citroën India has launched the Basalt X coupe SUV in India at ₹12.90 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom, India). The new variant of the Basalt is the first car by the brand to feature Cara, its in-car AI system. The Basalt X also comes with a new interior and some new features like a start/stop button, ventilated seats and more.

The Cara AI system will be available on the top-spec Basalt Max AT variant, which is now called the Basalt X, and will be offered as complimentary for initial bookings. The 360-degree camera is also available on the top-spec variant for an additional ₹25,000.

The Basalt X also gets a new interior theme. It has a tan coloured dashboard with new soft-touch materials like leather. The design of the dashboard is completely different from the standard Basalt. Even the 10.25-inch touchscreen has a new free-standing housing, and the Basalt X also gets a new free-standing 7-inch virtual instrument cluster. The seats also get new black and tan leather upholstery.

New features onboard the Basalt X include the aforementioned Cara AI system, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, start-stop button, cruise control with speed limiter, auto-dimming rear view mirror, LED lights and more.

Powering the Basalt X is the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with 109 bhp and 205 205 Nm with the AT. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
