All incentives including subsidy under the existing policy shall continue.…
The decision to extend the current policy reflects the government's commitment to fostering sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation solutions in Delhi. The original Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy was introduced to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the city, with a focus on reducing air pollution and promoting clean energy alternatives.
The new Delhi EV Policy 2.0 is currently in its final stages and is expected to be officially notified shortly after receiving the necessary approvals. This next version of the policy is anticipated to provide even more comprehensive and forward-looking measures to incentivise electric vehicle adoption and address environmental concerns.
The extension ensures that all incentives, including subsidies for electric vehicles, will persist, making EVs more accessible and affordable for the general public. The government's dedication to combating air pollution and reducing greenhouse gas emissions remains a top priority, underscoring their commitment to a cleaner, greener Delhi.
The imminent Delhi EV Policy 2.0 is expected to introduce further incentives, infrastructure improvements, and comprehensive strategies to encourage the electric vehicle market's growth and accessibility. The continued focus on electric vehicles is expected to stimulate economic growth in the region, create job opportunities, and improve the overall health and quality of life for Delhi's residents.
