The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS has been listed on the company's official Indian website. This motorcycle is the most powerful variant in the Multistrada lineup, having a track-focused character without sacrificing its adventure touring capabilities.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS cuts a striking figure with its aggressive design elements, taking inspiration from its racing siblings. A signature Ducati element, the LED cornering DRL headlight cuts an imposing figure, while the aerodynamic design offers both stability and rider comfort.
Sharp lines and a new single-sided swingarm create a modern look, and features like the adjustable rider seat height prioritise rider control across various terrains. In true Ducati fashion, the Multistrada V4 RS's design is crafted around the rider experience, promising a ride that's both thrilling and comfortable. Overall, it strikes a perfect balance between aggressive style and weight reduction, making it a true head-turner on the road.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS isn't just about looks; it's a performance beast. The centrepiece is the Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, borrowed from the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4, churning out 180 bhp at 12,250 rpm. This surpasses the power output of the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, making the RS the king of performance adventure bikes.
It's mated to a six-speed gearbox and Ducati's STM Evo-SBK dry clutch. Riders will also benefit from a bi-directional quick-shifter, radar-assisted adaptive cruise control, and four ride modes (Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban). It even gets a performance air filter from the Panigale V4 while being an adventure bike.
The chassis of the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS utilises a familiar aluminium frame, while the new titanium subframe sheds 2.5 kg weight. This combination makes the V4 RS the lightest Multistrada of the fourth generation.
A key change is the new tail section that sheds the pillion grab handle and top box mounting bracket for a weight-saving technopolymer unit. Further contributing to the lighter weight are the 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminium wheels and a titanium subframe, a significant 2.5kg lighter than the standard Multistrada V4.
For suspension duties, Ducati equips the bike with top-shelf Ohlins components - a 48mm fully adjustable front fork with titanium nitride coating and a TTX36 fully adjustable rear monoshock. This top-of-the-line suspension promises smooth and on-the-fly control.
The stopping power comes courtesy of Brembo's renowned braking system. Dual 330mm discs with Brembo Stylema monobloc four-piston callipers at the front provide exceptional stopping power.
The rear features a single 265mm disc with a Brembo two-piston calliper. Complementing the suspension and brakes are the lightweight 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminium wheels, further enhancing the motorcycle's agility. These are shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 4 tyres.
The listing of the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS on the Ducati India website is a strong indicator of its imminent launch. While an official date hasn't been announced, motorcycle enthusiasts can expect it to arrive in the coming weeks.
Pricing is also yet to be revealed, but considering its features and performance upgrades, expect the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS to carry a premium over the Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, which currently sits at ₹ 31.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is poised to challenge the likes of the BMW M 1000 XR in the Indian market, offering an exciting option for riders seeking a powerful and versatile adventure touring companion.
