This could very well shape the naked motorcycle based on the new Karizma XMR
Amidst the new scooters and the electric concepts, Hero also took the chance to showcase its new concept naked motorcycle, the 2.5R Xtunt, at EICMA. Hero continues its love affair of using X at the start of every bike’s name here as well, as this naked is geared towards the art of stunt riding.
Yeah, Hero aims to tap into the stunt riding world with the 2.5R Xtunt, giving the naked all the necessary bells and whistles to make it easier to pop wheelies and execute stoppies. There’s also large crash bars on either side to save the bike from damage or to keep your leg on when doing 360-degree wheelies.
This being a pure concept, Hero has gone all out with the hardware on offer. Hence, you find a chunky USD fork, Brembo monobloc front braking caliper, cast aluminium swingarm, and slick tyres, the latter being the most bizarre addition.
Nevertheless, the engine on the concept is expected to be a larger version of the 210 cc liquid-cooled mill that Hero has plonked into the new Karizma XMR. We expect that to remain just for the concept and not the actual bike that makes it into production.
Speaking of which, Hero had done something similar a few years ago with the Xtreme 1.R concept. That bike eventually made its way into production in the form of the Xtreme 160R and is now available with a 4V mill. We can expect something similar here too with Hero working on the naked version of the Karizma using the 2.5R Xtunt’s styling cues.
We hope to hear more from Hero soon on its upcoming products with a fair few left to be launched in this fiscal year.
