Hero’s Dakar adventures have paid off massively with the XPulse 200. But what about the future? Well, it seems that Hero has thought about that as well as it has revealed the Concept Lynx electric dirt bike and the Concept Acro, an electric minibike for kids that sort of enables them to do a bit of mucking around. Here’s what’s interesting about each bike:

Concept Lynx

Given the brilliance of electric motors and their instantaneous torque delivery, finding their use in dirt bikes becomes obvious. We have seen KTM, Honda, Cake and Husqvarna developing their own electric dirt bikes. Hero hopefully joins this list with the Lynx. Given its unique extruded frame, the Lynx aims to make going off-road a light and delightful affair.

There are no specs to share at the moment. What Hero has done is that it has shown pretty top-spec hardware on the Lynx. Chunky USD fork, box-section aluminium swingarm, petal rotors, and 21-/18-inch spoke wheels with knobby tyres. Indian enthusiasts have been itching to get their hands on something lithe and the Lynx could just be the solution.

Concept Acro

A motorcycle for kids might be an alien concept for Indians but the more developed markets have a fair few options, both ICE and electric. Hero aims to bring that early riding mannerisms to Indian kids with the Acro, a minibike that is geared towards kids of ages 3-9.

Hero states that it’s unique three-point adjustable frame will allow parents to tweak the setup for their children in under two minutes without needing any special tools. It will have swappable batteries and performance is also expected to be very controlled for kids to get the basics right on.

Plus, there will also be an app for parents to remotely monitor the performance as well as location of the Acro. Thus, adding an extra layer of safety to the entire equation.

The production versions of both of these electrics aren’t likely to come to the market anytime soon. However, if Hero manages to crack the formula and bring us the Lynx by 2025, it would certainly have a lot of takers.
