The three Indian marques with global ambitions have exciting products lined up at Milan
Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp and Ultraviolette Automotive: Indian manufacturers are taking it to the global stage and each one of them is promising for great products in the near future. So, what exactly could each one of them have in store? Here’s a rundown of the Indian brands and what to expect from them at the 2023 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy commencing from tomorrow.
No prizes for guessing the biggest talking point at Royal Enfield’s pavilion will be the new Himlayan that we rode last week. Powered by the new Sherpa 450 motor, the Himalayan’s evolution is something that we have been waiting for a while and it is truly a …. Well, the review embargo dictates that we hold off until the 10th. But it will be the bike’s first truly public unveiling.
Could we see a concept bike too? Like the Concept KX shown in 2018 and the SG650 Concept in 2021, Royal Enfield has taken to EICMA with interesting concepts that do eventually make it to production in some guise. Both of these laid the groundwork for the Super Meteor 650, a cruiser that is well and truly a global product. So for 2023, we hope that Royal Enfield has perhaps a scrambler concept on the new 450 platform. Or, the more exciting news would be revealing its Dakar dreams with a Dakar rally-ready prototype Himalayan.

We guess that there could be as many as 5-6 new products from Hero. We’ve already been given hints of three scooters that will be shown at EICMA. The first of which will be an adventure-ish large-capacity maxi-scooter which is prominently teased on its social media pages. Joining it could be a proper sporty 125cc scooter to take on the likes of the TVS NTorq 125 and the Honda Dio 125. And lastly, Hero’s Vida V1 could be heading to Europe and this would be the perfect platform to showcase that.
Moving on, Hero could also take the stage and show its 400cc bikes. A sportbike, perhaps the Karizma 400, would be one of the most thrilling bikes to look forward to from the brand. Hero’s 400cc naked, which is touted to be called the Hurikan, might also make an appearance in Milan.
What remains to be seen is whether Hero is bold enough to show us the large capacity XPulse 420 that it has been working on for a while. The XPulse 200 concept was shown at EICMA in 2017 and a year later, we also got the XPulse 200T and its various other concepts. So, following tradition, the 400cc adventure motorcycle could very well be shown soon.
After garnering much interest from global audiences, the Ultraviolette F77 is on its way to European and American markets. We believe there are going to be announcements regarding the same as well as a more souped up version of the F77 in store for us at EICMA. Ultraviolette has teased of the potentially 200 kmph-mark shattering F77 making an appearance and we for one cannot wait to get astride it.
