Indian Motorcycles, an American two-wheeler manufacturer, announced a new limited edition model, the FTR X 100% R Carbon, developed in collaboration with motocross brand 100%. The bike was showcased at EICMA 2023 stating that it will be a limited edition.
The FTR X 100% R Carbon shares design similarities with the standard FTR R Carbon but stands out with carbon fibre bodywork in Blue Candy colour. Key components, including the headlight bezel, fuel tank, pillion seat cowl, and front fender, all have a carbon fibre finish. The chassis is painted in a contrasting white colour. Red accents are present on the bottom panel, the Indian logo on the fuel tank, and the wheels. Unconventional blacked-out Ohlins front fork with golden tubes add to the bike's look which is then completed with the iconic Indian FTR twin port exhaust.
The FTR X 100% R Carbon retains the same engine as the standard model which is a 1203 cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 121 bhp and 117 Nm of torque. The braking system includes Brembo brakes at both ends. It gets 17 inch cast wheels with Metzeler tyres (120/70 front and 180/55 rear). Adding a touch of performance, the FTR X 100% R Carbon is equipped with a black-finished Titanium Akrapovič exhaust.
The bike features a four-inch TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, offering various ride modes (rain, standard, sport), lean angle-sensitive ABS, stability control, traction control, wheelie and rear lift mitigation, a USB charge port, and cruise control. Indian Motorcycle offers buyers the flexibility to customise their motorcycles further with options like a high licence plate mount, front and rear turn signals.
Indian Motorcycles plans to produce 400 units of the FTR X 100% R Carbon, with 150 units allocated for the US market and the remaining 250 for other markets. The prospect of the motorcycle being available in India remains uncertain. Buyers of the FTR X 100% R Carbon will receive a special package that includes a pair of Indian Motorcycle x 100% sunglasses, enhancing the overall ownership experience. This bike retails at a price of $18,999 (approx ₹ 15 lakhs).
