It is a tribute to the Lucky Explorer Cagiva Dakar-racer and will be limited to 500 units
MV Agusta has revealed the LXP Orioli at EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy. This motorcycle pays tribute to the Cagiva Dakar racer with the iconic Lucky Explorer livery.
The MV Agusta has stated that only 500 units of the LXP Orioli will be produced globally. It's marketed as a premium ADV bike and is named after rally legend Edi Orioli, with his signature on each unit's fuel tank. The LXP Orioli is available in a sole paint scheme, resembling the original Lucky Explorer with white, green, and red colours.
It gets a 931cc inline-3 DOHC engine delivering 122 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 102 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm, with 85 per cent of the torque available from 3,000 rpm. The engine features a counter-rotating crank for improved cornering stability, DLC-coated cams, countershafts, and a hydraulic clutch for lightweight operation. It has a 48 mm USD fork offering 210 mm of travel, and a monoshock at the rear, also with 210 mm of travel. Both suspension units are fully adjustable and sourced from Sachs.
Braking is managed by Brembo Stylema callipers and dual 320 mm discs at the front. The MV Agusta LXP Orioli features spoke wheels that allow the fitment of tubeless tyres, with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear. These rims come wrapped in Bridgestone Battlax AX41 rubber.
The bike comes with standard cornering ABS, including real wheel lift-up mitigation. It has ride-by-wire technology, and multiple ride modes including Urban, Touring, Off-road, and Custom. It is equipped with full-LED lighting and switchgear with backlit buttons. The ADV offers a choice of two levels for engine braking action. Its electronic features are accessible through a 7-inch colour TFT display, and the MV Agusta Ride App provides a navigation system and a Mobisat geolocation anti-theft system. Cruise control is included as a standard feature.
While this ADV is set to be introduced in international markets, it is unlikely to make its way to India, as MV Agusta currently does not operate in the Indian market.
