Bikers can book the new Himalayan for Rs 10,000 on the RE India website.
Royal Enfield has announced the India launch date of the new Himalayan 450. Royal Enfield’s flagship ADV motorcycle will make its India debut at the Motoverse festival in Goa on November 24. Prior to that booking for the new Royal Enfield bike has already commenced on its official website and the booking amount is Rs 10,000. We expect the new Himalayan 450 to be priced around Rs 2.70 to 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
Coming back to the motorcycle, the new Himalayan 450 hardly shares anything in common with its predecessor, the Himalayan 411. The styling of the new bike has the Himalayan design DNA but also some modern elements like all-LED lighting, a narrow exhaust muffler and the brake light has been integrated with the indicators. On the mechanical side, it is powered by a 452 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine rated at 39.5 bhp and 40 Nm. The Himalayan 450 sports a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. Riders can opt from two riding modes - Performance and Eco.
Being a proper off-roader, it features an all-new frame that rests on a USD fork and a monoshock. Suspension travel is 200 mm on either end and ground clearance is pretty high at 230 mm. The standard seat height is 825 mm and it can be increased to 845 mm. Braking hardware has been updated with larger discs and the Himalayan 450 now features switchable ABS.
On the features front, the new Himalayan sports a TFT instrument console and it supports Google Maps navigation via the RE app. There’s also a new five-way joystick to toggle through the various modes and you get music control along with call and message alerts.
With the launch of the new Himalayan 450, Royal Enfield will also be discontinuing the Himalayan 411 from the Indian market. Delivery details and pricing for the accessories will be revealed during the launch on November 24.
