Intro But should you actually think about any of these?
The Kinetic E-Luna's electric makeover boasts nostalgia and practicality. And at a starting price of ₹69,990, one can hardly think of it as a hurdle. But if you want something more conventional, like in a scooter format, don’t fret cause here are some options that will have you zooming around and still be near the E-Luna's budget
The cheapest option in the list is the Yo Edge. Priced at just ₹49,086, the Yo Edge electric scooter offers a decently designed scooter. The range is 60 km and a top speed of 25 kmph. Both these numbers are honest but ok for city usage. The scooter's battery takes 7-8 hours to charge completely. Its 2.5 kW motor is best for daily errands or for light commercial operations. Like all the scooters in this list it also gets 10-inch wheels. The stopping power comes from disc brakes but these are small rotors there is no combi braking or ABS on offer.
For just ₹54,999 the Lectrix SX25 electric scooter offers a practical and budget-friendly option. This scooter has a 60 km range and a 25 kmph top speed, perfect for your daily commute. Its 2.5 kW motor delivers decent acceleration, and the 4-hour charging time means lower down times for commercial applications. Plus, it has a load carrying capacity of 150 kg.
Okinawa R30 is an electric scooter that's made for daily commutes. At just ₹61,534, it has a decent range of 60 km. The top speed is modest at 25 kmph. The drum brakes at both ends are manageable for this modest performance. The 2.5 kW motor provides ample drive for zipping in the city. Plus, the 4-5 hour charge time means you'll be back on the road sooner than you think.
Coming closest to the pricing of the E-Luna is the iVOOMi S1 at ₹69,999. This has the same range of 80 km as the E-Luna. The top speed here is high at 55 km but is in the same ballpark. 10-inch wheels with disc brakes for both front and rear should give it good stopping power. Its 2.5 kW motor handles basic tasks and the battery charging time is 3-4 hours. Also this has the highest load bearing capacity of 160 kg.
Overall these scooters have better design than the E-Luna but get taken down in terms of top speed, usability and modularity. The E-Luna focuses on affordability while keeping practicality in mind. There are no frills with E-Luna but it does offer good features. These are just cheaper choices than E-Luna but taking a closer look they do not bring much value to the user who is looking for one scooter that does it all.
