Tarun Mehta gives us a hint of when the new family e-scooter might just arrive
As the EV industry shapes up to a world post FAME-II subsidies, new electric products are bound to slow down, at least initially. The Ather family e-scooter was amongst the new EVs that we were keenly looking forward to but that too might just get delayed and is certainly not going to arrive before the first quarter of 2024.
Tarun Mehta said, “Launching new stuff is not that easy then, you can't launch stuff in like three months. It'll take you like a year to re-plan, so we'll do it.” Even though he mentions a year, it could be towards the middle of 2024 that we could see development on the actual family e-scooter.
Creating a family e-scooter is certainly a big departure from the current sporty scooters that it is making. We are about to see the new 450 Apex arriving in the next couple of weeks, which still stays true to the current Ather philosophy. However, our experience with Ather’s products has been exemplary, as the company has truly made some fine products over the years. And we are sure that the same will hold true for the upcoming Apex as well as the family e-scooter.
