Verstappen won't arrive in Jeddah until Friday, though the FIA has granted Red Bull driver permission to do so.
Max Verstappen is widely considered the best driver in the world and is the two-time defending F1 world champion. He delivered a dominant performance at the season's opening race in Bahrain, cruising to victory. However, his upcoming race in Saudi Arabia could prove to be a challenge, as he will arrive late in Jeddah due to a stomach bug.
Verstappen won't arrive in Jeddah until Friday, though the FIA has granted Red Bull driver permission to do so. He had to delay his flight due to his illness, but this won't be an issue as he travels in his own private jet.
"Max has been suffering from a stomach illness over the past few days and, with the agreement of the FIA, will not be present at track today. Feel better, Max," tweeted the Red Bull F1 racing team.
That being said, Verstappen himself tweeted that he's already feeling much better and will be at the track on Friday, just in time for the first practice of the weekend. Like clockwork, by virtue of winning the first race of the season, Verstappen leads the driver championship ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez.
