The conclave also featured the launch of FADA’s CSR initiative for 2025–26, aimed at assisting road accident victims.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) convened the 7th Auto Retail Conclave in the capital, drawing over 500 delegates from across the country. This year’s theme, “Self-Sustaining Success: Transforming Auto Retail for Naya Bharat,” underscored the sector’s growing role in shaping India’s mobility future.

The gathering was inaugurated by Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy, who joined virtually. Gadkari stressed that India’s transition to clean mobility solutions is a continuous process, with electric, hydrogen and biofuel-powered vehicles already making inroads. He reiterated that India, now the world’s third-largest automobile market, is on track to become number one globally within five years, supported by domestic demand, skilled talent and low-cost production.

Kumaraswamy praised India’s 15,000 dealerships and 20,000 outlets, which together employ nearly 50 lakh people. He described dealers as the trusted face of mobility for millions of families and a vital part of the nation’s economic engine.

In his address, FADA President C.S. Vigneshwar highlighted that the auto retail sector anchors investments of ₹20 lakh crore and contributes ₹3 lakh crore in taxes annually. He called for deeper collaboration between automakers and dealers, pointing to challenges such as excessive inventory, thin margins and training costs. He also sought policy measures like a Dealer Protection Act, ease of doing business and EV ecosystem support.

The conclave also featured the launch of FADA’s CSR initiative for 2025–26, aimed at assisting road accident victims, and the unveiling of a landmark OEM–Dealer Agreement. The Dealer Satisfaction Study 2025 (DSS’25) was also presented, recognising automakers for excellence in dealer engagement.
