Hopefully, there are no irritating mid-race sponsor adverts on the streaming platform

Hallelujah! Indian MotoGP fans finally have something to cheer for as sports streaming platform FanCode has bagged the digital rights for the series for the next three years. Until now, the races were streamed only on JioCinema or used to be available on Eurosport channel on digital satellite services.

The beauty of FanCode is that it allows fans passes for just a single event, a season or an annual subscription. And since MotoGP will also join F1 on the streaming platform, it would make sense for FanCode to have a dedicated ‘Motorsport’ pass for the two sporting series. Until now, there has not been any clarity on the pass structure for MotoGP alone.

Indian MotoGP 2023

The F1 season pass for 2024 was for a mere ₹599 while the same on F1 TV Pro was for ₹2,999. And #IYKYK how astronomically high the cost is for the MotoGP Video Pass. Hence, paying ₹600 or a bit more for just MotoGP does sound like a fair deal. Especially, if it gets rid of the annoying sponsor ads (which ironically used to be mainly of Yamaha, who is struggling big time in MotoGP) that would pop up in the middle of the races, during the most interesting battle period.

And while this is good news for fans, we are still left waiting for the Uttar Pradesh government, FairStreet Sports, InvestUP or whoever the right party is, to revisit and sort out the mess with Dorna from the inaugural Bharat GP. Or just like F1, it too shall become a distant dream. *Sob*
