Gigabyte, best known in India for its PC motherboards and graphics cards, is expanding its gaming-centric monitor lineup here with the launch of the curved, “super ultra-wide” 49-inch Aorus CO49DQ. Set to debut in India on April 31, this high-end monitor has a 32:9 aspect ratio, which the company says is the equivalent of two 27-inch ultra-wide monitors placed side by side, and without any seam between them. Gigabyte has also developed AI-enabled features to help keep the panel from developing burn-in. The monitor is priced at Rs. 1,29,000 in India and will be available through authorised online and offline retailers.
Promising exceptional immersion and improved multitasking, the Aorus CO49DQ’s 49-inch panel has an 1800R radius to fill any user’s field of view, and an anti-reflective coating. The resolution of 5120x1440 (double QHD) and 144Hz peak response rate mean it is aimed at gamers who want an extremely wide field of view without losing responsiveness. The AMD FreeSync Pro variable refresh rate standard is supported. This 10-bit QD-OLED panel is said to deliver deep blacks with a 1,000,000:1 rated contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. It can reproduce 99 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.
Gigabyte says having a single “super ultra-wide” monitor saves desk space and eliminates a distracting divider right in the middle of the action, whether the user is playing a flight simulator, editing multimedia projects, or working on massive spreadsheets. A built-in KVM switch, USB hub and integrated 5W stereo speakers allow users to quickly multitask and work across multiple devices with the same keyboard and mouse. Picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes allow for maximising use of the huge display surface area.
The Gigabyte Aorus CO49DQ is equipped with two HDMI 2.1 video inputs with support for auto low-latency mode, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, and one USB Type-C port that supports up to 18W power delivery. The power supply is built in. Software features include an on-screen real-time dashboard for PC resource usage, a Windows utility to change display parameters rather than fiddling with buttons on the monitor itself, and detailed colour calibration options.
AI is used to run Gigabyte’s OLED Care routines in the background. These can be customised, and the company says they minimise the risk of burn-in. However, buyers will still get a three-year warranty that covers potential screen burn-in.
