Google is also expected to unveil its Pixel Watch 2 alongside the Pixel 8 series.
Just a day after Apple revealed its iPhone 15 launch date, Google has announced the official launch of the Pixel 8 series. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are now confirmed to debut on October 4 at an event in New York.
The Made by Google Event will kickstart at 10 AM ET (7:30 PM IST) and will be live-streamed online on YouTube.
Alongside the Pixel 8 series, Google is also expected to unveil its Pixel Watch 2, which is rumoured to be powered by a Snapdragon chipset.
Meanwhile, an official picture of the Pixel 8 Pro went live on the Google Store, giving us a look at the upcoming flagship from Google.
The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro have leaked online previously, giving us a tease of what to expect. The new Pixel phones will be powered by the third-gen Tensor G3 chipset and run on Android 14 out of the box.
The Pixel 8 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch FHD+ resolution AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. There are two cameras on the back (50MP + 12 MP UW) and a 4485mAh battery with 24W fast wired charging.
As for the Pixel 8 Pro, it is expected to feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ resolution OLED display with 50MP main, 64MP ultra-wide and 48MP telephoto cameras. It's expected to have a 4950mAh battery with 27W fast wired charging support.
