Rockstar Games, gearing up for the launch of the eagerly awaited Grand Theft Auto VI following its recent trailer reveal, is now grappling with significant internal issues. Reports have surfaced, claiming a substantial leak of the Grand Theft Auto V source code, along with fresh Python code from GTA VI and files from the cancelled game Bully 2.
Tagged as the most extensive leak in Rockstar's history, surpassing even the 2022 GTA VI footage leak, the breach has exposed every file associated with Bully 2, originally slated as the successor to the 2008 Bully. Screenshots of the GTA VI code are reportedly circulating online.
This leak poses a severe risk, potentially leading to the creation of advanced cheats for GTA V, a title that continues to captivate millions a decade post its release. With the release of GTA VI scheduled for 2025, Rockstar faces a challenging situation.
The breach has disclosed sensitive game details, including early GTA V maps, scripts, and previously discarded DLCs. In total, eight scrapped DLCs have been identified, including:
SP Assassination Pack
SP Manhunt Pack
SP Norman Pack
Agent Trevor
Relationship Pack
Enterprise Pack
Prologue DLC
LibertyV DLC
Additionally, the leak has revealed "Project American" as the codename for GTA VI. As of now, Rockstar Games has not issued any official statement regarding this matter.
