Semi Faired Version Of Karizma XMR which is expected to go into production by July.
The Hero CE001 was unveiled as a commemorative edition, with "CE" standing for Commemorative Edition. It pays tribute to Dr. Brijmohan Lal Munjal, the founder of Hero Motocorp. The motorcycle is based on the Hero Karizma XMR and, in some aspects, draws inspiration from the naked 2.5R Xtunt street bike showcased at the EICMA 2023.
It features a half-fairing, reminiscent of the OG Hero Karizma, accompanied by an LED headlight and numerous carbon fibre elements. These carbon fibre components are expected to be incorporated into the production version. The sporty grey, black, and red combination is enhanced by a single-seat layout with a cowl over the pillion seat.
The headlight design, resembling that of the Xtreme 200s, adopts a robocop-like appearance. The single-piece handlebar is slightly raised and tilted towards the rider, contributing to the motorcycle's overall aesthetic. Additionally, a smoked windshield complements the design, further emphasising the sporty and dynamic look.
Regarding performance, specific figures for this motorcycle are not available. However, considering the presence of a performance exhaust and the utilisation of lightweight components such as carbon fibre panels and aluminium parts, it is anticipated to deliver a more thrilling ride.
The engine employed in this bike is derived from the Karizma, featuring a 210 cc liquid-cooled engine. On the XMR, this engine generates a maximum power of 25.15 bhp at 9,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 20.4 Nm at 7,250 rpm. Expect a bit more oomph from this mill.
This engine is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, incorporating a hydraulic actuator for the clutch. The engine clutch cover is red, while the block and head are finished in grey. The frame, engine case, and swingarm boast a striking red finish, with the swingarm being a cast aluminium unit. The chain cover is made of carbon fibre, presenting a premium look, and the golden anodized chain and sprocket further add to the overall aesthetics.
Additionally, the motorcycle comes equipped with a slip-on Akrapovic exhaust. The company is in the process of making it legal for production motorcycles. With the combination of a performance exhaust and lighter components, the expectation is that the motorcycle will exhibit improved speed and agility compared to the Karizma XMR.
The bike comes with 17-inch wheels that get a split-spoke design. Its braking system comprises a 300mm front disc with a radial master cylinder and a 230mm rear disc. Suspension duties are carried out by a USD fork and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear, both sourced from Ohlins and draped in a striking red colour. However, it is uncertain whether this design aspect will be retained in the production version.
Limited to just 100 units, this motorcycle is scheduled to be available for sale in July 2024, making it a highly exclusive collector's item.
