The 2023 Hero Karizma will make its India debut in August.
The iconic Hero Karizma is making a comeback in the Indian market and this has got many bikers excited. The Karizma was one of the first performance motorcycles available in the Indian market at the turn of the 21st century and it still enjoys a cult status. After the split with Honda, Hero MotoCorp continued to sell the bike in the Indian market, but the latter iterations such as the Karizma ZMR failed to gather much sales success. However, Hero has plans to reintroduce the Karizma brand in a new avatar and it will be an all-new product. The Hero Karizma XMR 210 will make its India debut in August.
But before the launch, we have got a glimpse of its design via patent images. It’s clear that the 2023 Hero Karizam will follow the design language of its predecessor and will feature a full fairing. The overall styling is sporty with edgy body panels. Other notable design details include a large fuel tank, split seat and a stubby side slung exhaust muffler. Keeping with its sporty DNA, the new Karizma sports clip-on handlebars.
Another interesting aspect of the 2023 Hero Karizma is its trellis frame, a first for any Hero production bike. On the mechanical front, the new Hero bike will be powered by a 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Details about the engine are scarce, but we expect it to produce around 25bhp and 21Nm of torque. It will be interesting to see whether Hero sticks with a 5-speed gearbox or goes for a 6-speed unit. The 2023 Hero Karizma ZMR will compete against the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 and the new Pulsar F250, it’s likely to carry a sticker price of around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
