Hero has shared the first teaser images of its upcoming Mavrick 440 retro-styled motorcycle. The teaser shows off the upcoming roadster’s silhouette as well as the LED headlight with the unique H-shaped DRL layout. The Mavrick is going to be shown off first at the Hero World 2024 event on January 23 and will be followed by the launch and ride in February.
The Mavrick silhouette gives us Ducati Monster-ish vibes with the headlight being similar to that of the Triumph Trident 660. The flat wide handlebar and bulging tank extensions are clearly meant to give off the macho vibe that Hero is going for with the Mavrick. And given the target audience is of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, this is something crucial that Hero gets spot on.
Powering the Hero Mavrick will be the same 440 cc single that debuted on the Harley-Davidson X440. We can expect the same 27 bhp and 38 Nm output but with a different throttle tune perhaps. This could be similar to the kind of tuning Royal Enfield does with its J-series bike where the Hunter 350 has peppy initial drive, Classic 350 and Bullet 350 are laidback and the Meteor 350 is sporty.
In comparison to the Harley, the underpinnings are going to be rather simple. So a telescopic fork replaces the USD. Hero might even skimp a bit on the features front to keep costs in check. Speaking of which, we think Hero could go aggressive with the pricing and offer the Mavrick 440 at around Rs 2 to 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom) to begin with. Not only will it undercut the Harley-Davidson X440 but also several colour trims of the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
