Hero Motocorp is all set to launch its most premium motorcycle tomorrow which will be called - Mavrick. It is based on the same platform that also underpins the Harley-Davidson X440, which will include the same engine and chassis. Aside from that, the Mavrick will have a completely new design and new suspension parts. Here are some of the key details that we know about the upcoming motorcycle so far.
While gearing up for the launch of the Mavrick, Hero Motocorp released several teaser videos and photos of the Mavric. One such image was the sketch design of the bike wherein it showcased how the bike’s profile will look like. To our surprise, the Mavrick boasted of a very sport cruiser design which reminded us of the the Ducati Diavel (the OG in the segment). Although, we are yet to see the production -spec bike tomorrow, but initial impressions have left us in awe for sure.
We also received spied images of the Hero Mavrick doing test runs, and from those visuals we could decipher that Mavrick will have different suspension set up. Unlike the USD fork and monoshock absorber set up found in the H-D X440, the Hero Mavrick will sport telescopic fork and a twin-shock absorber. Our guess is that Hero has done so to cut down on the bike’s price, which in turn will undercut the Harley-Davidson X440.
The Harley-Davidson X440 gets a squared tank shape which will not be the case with the Mavrick. Instead, Hero Motocorp has opted for a muscular tank with tear drop shape design. Moreover, the tank will also be finished in shiny glossy material, unlike the matte finish on the top spec Harley-Davidson X440. The seat will also be a single-piece unit and its design will aptly compliment the sport cruiser’s silhouette.
Although the Hero Mavrick will get a round LED headlight unit, however, the H-shaped DRL housed inside will be different. It will be more round-ish in design compared to the one we saw in the Harley-Davidson X440. Alongside, the side panels will also be updated that will align with the overall curvaceous proportion of the Mavrick.
The Hero Mavrick will also debut a brand new all-digital instrument cluster which will support Bluetooth connectivity, and thereby features like turn-by-turn navigation, and controls to music and accept/reject calls. Controls on the handlebars are also likely to be different. Either way, it won’t be like the TFT digital cluster as seen in the H-D X440.
The Hero Mavrick 440 will undercut the Harley-Davidson’s X440’s price point of ₹2.40 lakh (starting ex-showroom). This is given away by the fact that it equips less premium cycle parts. With this in perview, the Hero Mavrick might give a strong competition to the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, the newly launch Jawa 350, and its own brethren the Harley-Davidson X440.
