Only 100 units of Hero MotoCorp’s most exclusive bike will be auctioned off.
Built as a tribute to the company’s founder Dr Brijmohan Lal Munjal, Hero has officially started the auctioning process of the ‘Centennial’. Unveiled for the first time at Hero World 2024, where the Xtreme 125R was launched and the Mavrick 440 was unveiled, , ‘The Centennial’ is an exclusive build that showcases the brilliance of Hero engineering. And yet, not anyone would be eligible to buy it.
To simply answer, by bidding on it. Each of the 100 handcrafted machines will be auctioned off daily with the deliveries for the same commencing from September onwards. Sadly, this auction process is not open to the 'aam junta' but only to Hero’s employees, associates, business partners, and stakeholders.
Since Hero MotoCorp will be auctioning off ‘The Centennial’ its ex-showroom price can be anything at this point. However, given its exclusive stature, we expect it to fetch an asking price north of ₹3-4 lakh.
The intricate bodywork is mostly made out of carbon fibre and the swingarm is made out of light anodized aluminium. The semi-fairing design is in itself a tribute to the OG Karizma, along with that it gets quite the eye-catching aesthetic treatment with several contrasting ‘electric’ red bits as seen on the chassis, engine and suspension component.
Speaking of suspension, the Centennial will exclusively come equipped with a gas-charged, fully adjustable monoshock from Wibers and a 43 mm upside-down fork with damping adjustment.
Powering the Hero Centennial will be the same liquid-cooled 210 cc, single-cylinder engine that made its debut on the Karizma XMR. However, performance will be enhanced with the inclusion of a carbon fibre-titanium exhaust system by Akrapovic. This should not only make the bike sound delicious but also help boost performance – the specifics of it are still under wraps. On top of that, given how the bike has been built out of lighter components, it has a kerb weight of just 158 kg and that should also help its case with a better power-to-weight ratio.
With ‘The Centennial’, Hero will also be celebrating 100 days of customer and employee engagement activity across its facilities and dealer network, including global dealers. During this period, if you buy a new Hero bike you will be privy to 100 percent cashback on the purchase. But then again this offer will be limited to just 100 vehicles only.
