Both the XPulses look almost similar to each other, does that mean the difference between the two is also blurred?
Hero MotoCorp had more than a bunch of pleasant surprises at the recently concluded EICMA 2024 motorcycle show. While both the new Karizma ZMR 250 and the Xtreme 250 were impressive and quite the attention-grab-worthy bikes from the Indian manufacturer in Milan – at the other end of the spectrum stood the Hero XPulse 210. A bigger XPulse for sure, but not quite the “Big XPulse” that we expected. Although we have a notion of how that will pan out in the future in the form of the XPulse 421, about which you can read more about it here – but for now let's focus on the Hero XPulse 210, and how it differs from the smaller XPulse 200 4V.
Design
Design-wise, the evolution is immediately apparent with the new XPulse 210. While both motorcycles maintain the fundamental off-road styling elements - including a raised front fender, slim profile, and elevated flyscreen - the XPulse 210 presents a sharper, more purposeful appearance. This is evident with the new sculpted fuel tank design and its enduro-inspired styling tail section. While the XPulse 200 4V had a slight hint of being a commuter bike, the new XPulse 210 negates that completely for a more conventional dual-sport aesthetic over its predecessor.
Engine & Performance
At the heart of this upgrade lies a very familiar powertrain. Yes, the Hero XPulse 210 gets the same 210 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that we have already experienced in the Karizma XMR. This mill produces 24.46 bhp and 20.7 Nm, which is a substantial increase over the XPulse 200 4V's 18.83 bhp and 17.35 Nm output. This additional power and torque advantage should noticeably improve the bigger XPulse’s performance both on and off-road, compared to its smaller sibling. Another big change is the inclusion of the 6-speed gearbox which should make the new Hero motorcycle a better bike while touring.
Features
The new Hero XPulse 210 boasts a premium 4.2-inch TFT console as opposed to the LCD display found on the 200 4V. While the current model offers smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation through its LCD screen, the new TFT display is expected to retain these features while offering enhanced visibility and functionality. Both variants maintain dual-channel ABS with the option to completely disengage the rear wheel ABS for off-road use.
Price
The Hero XPulse 210 is expected to launch with a price tag of approximately Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it above the current XPulse 200 4V, which retails at Rs 1,47,391 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The launch is scheduled at the 2025 Hero World ceremony at CIT in Jaipur. So stay tuned for we will be bringing more exclusive content and confirm whether the XPulse 200 4V will be a good improvement over the current bike or not.
