Video game legend Hideo Kojima is bringing his game Death Stranding to Apple devices. After leaving Konami and creating the Metal Gear Solid series, Kojima’s Death Stranding pushed the limits of the PlayStation 4. It also came out on the PlayStation 5 and PC. Apple announced last year that Kojima's new games, including Death Stranding, would be available on Mac and iPhone. The game's compatibility with Apple's hardware was showcased during the iPhone 15 Pro Max launch. It’s set to release across Apple’s platforms on January 30 for $40.

This version of Death Stranding is special. It’s a director’s cut with extra content like new areas, more missions, and new tools to help the main character, Sam Porter Bridges. It'll work on the latest iPhone 15 Pro models, iPads, and M series Macs. If you preorder, you get a 50% discount.

Kojima is also working on a sequel to Death Stranding for Apple devices. Plus, there's a film in the works with indie studio A24, based on the game. This comes at a time when Konami is in the process of remaking one of his most iconic games -- Metal Gear Sold: Snake Eater.

Death Stranding will be in good company with big games like Resident Evil Village and Assassins Creed Mirage on Apple devices. Apple has also added ray tracing to its M3 Macs and introduced a new tool to help game developers move their games from Windows to Apple's system. In March, Apple might launch new M3-based iPads, giving developers more options to use Apple's latest tech.
