Yoshizana will move to his new role from Bridgestone Japan where he has served in various leadership positions.
Bridgestone India has appointed Hiroshi Yoshizana as its new Managing Director. He will join his new role from Bridgestone Japan where he has served in various leadership positions. At Bridgestone Japan he served as Executive Vice President of Solution Business, Retail and Service Business in Bridgestone Tire Solution Japan Co. Pvt Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion of his new role, Yoshizana said, “India is a strategic, evolving and growth market for Bridgestone, with a unique set of opportunities and challenges, as the country’s automotive sector is poised for major advances both in terms of numbers and technology. I look forward to working with our partners and the Bridgestone team to serve our customers, vehicle manufacturers and the communities at large.”
Yoshizana will succeed Stefano Sanchini, who in turn will move into the role of VP Consumer Replacement for Europe. Sanchini assumed the role of MD in January 2023, and it was under his tenure that Bridgestone India reached its hundredth million tyre at its Indore plant, and the brand’s Pune plant was also declared carbon neutral.
This shift in upper management comes as part of Bridgestone Corporation’s recent announcement regarding global reorganization of Bridgestone East and West. As part of this shuffle, India will be reassigned under East forming BSAPIC (Bridgestone Asia Pacific, India and China) as one SBU. This has been done because these geographies represent similar consumer sentiments and Bridgestone’s synergies can be channelized to develop these markets further.
