At CES 2024, HP has introduced its latest Spectre x360 2-in-1 laptops, powered by Intel's cutting-edge Core Ultra Meteor Lake processors. These new notebooks are available in 14-inch and 16-inch models, featuring the Intel Core Ultra chipset. This chipset brings a significant update in CPU architecture, touted as the most substantial change to x86 architecture in four decades. It also includes new ARC graphics and a dedicated NPU for AI workloads. Additionally, customers have the option to enhance these notebooks with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPUs for increased graphical performance.
Samuel Chang, Senior Vice President & Division President of Personal Systems Consumer Solutions at HP Inc., emphasized the personalization aspect of these innovations. "We believe that the best innovations are also the most personal ones," Chang stated. He further added, "New technologies from HP deliver solutions that allow us to be more personalised than ever, taking advantage of game-changing innovations like AI that will alter the way that technology moves us forward.”
A standout feature of the new Spectre laptops is the 9-megapixel camera, designed for clear calls in both day and night settings. This enhancement leverages a new AI chip, which also manages security features, including a walk-away lock. These are the first Spectre laptops to incorporate audio tuning by Poly, alongside enhanced audio from Windows Studio Effects for video calls. The new NPU supports various effects for video calls.
The notebooks boast impressive displays, featuring a 2.8K OLED screen, which ensures sharper images and more vibrant colours, along with an IMAX Enhanced Certification. The screen offers a 16:10 aspect ratio and a variable refresh rate ranging from 48 to 120Hz, adaptable to different content types.
HP's collaboration with Poly has also led to the launch of new ANC TWS buds, the Poly Voyager Free 20. These earbuds come with a Qi charging case, which extends battery life by 2.5 times and are supported by the Poly Lens app for personalization and fit testing.
The company also introduced the new 960 ergonomic keyboard, featuring a split wireless design reminiscent of Microsoft's earlier offerings. Additionally, HP has launched a programmable wireless keypad, the HP 690 rechargeable wireless mouse, and a USB Type C travel hub.
HP's Series 5 displays, available in 24, 27, and 32-inch models, offer a 1500:1 contrast ratio and enhanced 100Hz refresh rates. These monitors feature slim designs and an additional HDMI port.
Pricing for the Spectre x360 starts at $1499.99 and $1699.99 for the 16-inch model. The Poly Voyager Free 20 earbuds are priced at $149, and the HP 960N Ergonomic wireless keyboard starts at $119. The HP 360 rechargeable wireless mouse is available for $59.99, and the USB Type C travel hub for $69.99. The programmable wireless keypad and the wired keyboard are each priced at $49.99. HP will announce prices for the Series 5 displays in spring 2024 at the launch.
