Hyundai has updated the 2026 i20 with the edition of a new base variant. Called i20 Era, this new trim is priced at ₹5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With this update, Hyundai is able to position the i20 more competitively against its rivals like Maruti Suzuki Baleno (starting price ₹5.99 lakh, ex-showroom) and Tata Altroz (₹ 6.30 lakh).

The reintroduction of the Era trim has lowered the i20’s entry price by around Rs 74,000. At the same time, Hyundai has also revised prices of the Magna Executive and Magna trims. Both these variants are now priced at ₹6.73 lakh and ₹6.99 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively, with a reduction of ₹13,000 each.

Commenting on this development, Sunil Moolchandani, National Sales Head, HMIL, said, “The Hyundai i20 has consistently redefined benchmarks in the premium hatchback segment with its progressive design, dynamic performance and advanced technology. With the new starting price of ₹5.99 lakh, we are making the i20 experience even more compelling, accessible and desirable for customers.”

Besides revision of prices, Hyundai has also made some new feature additions to the i20. For starters, the base Era variant comes equipped with features such as six airbags, fully digital instrument cluster, front and rear skid plates, bodycolour ORVMs and door handles, Type-C USB charger and telescopic steering.

The mid-spec Magna Executive variant offers a few additional creature comforts such as a digital instrument cluster, tyre pressure monitoring system, automatic headlamps, keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, a shark fin antenna, and telescopic steering. Further, the top-spec Magna variant enhances the experience with the inclusion of electric sunroof, LED DRLs, rear AC vents, and front armrest with storage.

Powering the Hyundai i20 is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with an integrated starter generator for improved efficiency, that develops 83bhp and 114.7 Nm of peak torque. This motor can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox.
