While Hyundai has yet to release technical specifications, expectations are high that the Ioniq 6 N will share its powertrain with the Ioniq 5 N.
Hyundai Motor Company has released a fresh set of teaser images for the upcoming Ioniq 6 N, signaling the imminent arrival of the performance variant of its all-electric sedan. The Ioniq 6 N follows the Ioniq 5 N—Hyundai’s first high-performance EV under its N sub-brand—and will expand the Korean automaker’s portfolio of sporty electric vehicles. Hyundai has confirmed that a full reveal will take place in July.
The teaser visuals reveal several design cues that distinguish the Ioniq 6 N from the standard model. Notable among them is a prominent rear wing and an integrated ducktail spoiler, hinting at aerodynamic enhancements focused on downforce and stability. The vehicle will also feature flared fenders to accommodate a wider track, along with lightweight wheels shod in performance tyres, as depicted in one image showing aggressive burnouts. These enhancements suggest that the car will be engineered for track-day dynamics while retaining street usability.
While Hyundai has yet to release technical specifications, expectations are high that the Ioniq 6 N will share its powertrain with the Ioniq 5 N. That model is powered by a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup producing 632 bhp in boost mode. If carried over, this output would position the Ioniq 6 N well above traditional internal combustion sports sedans in terms of performance, while also potentially undercutting rivals on price.
In line with its N brand ethos, Hyundai is positioning the Ioniq 6 N around three core pillars of performance: racetrack readiness, everyday usability, and agile cornering—referred to internally as “Racetrack Capability,” “Everyday Sports Car,” and “Corner Rascal.” While marketing terminology aside, these themes point to a concerted effort to offer a well-rounded performance EV that doesn't compromise daily drivability.
Design-wise, the Ioniq 6 N is expected to feature the same pixel-themed lighting design seen in the standard Ioniq 6, though with added pixel details on the trunklid. These visual elements serve to create a futuristic aesthetic while also offering a distinctive identity for the performance model.
Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but if it aligns closely with the Ioniq 5 N, the 6 N could launch with a starting price just under $70,000 (approx. ₹59.90 lakh). This would position it as a value offering in the high-performance EV segment, competing with models like the Tesla Model 3 Performance and BMW i4 M50.
