Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) reached an agreement with the United Union of Hyundai Employees (UUHE) on Wednesday, finalising a wage settlement covering the three-year span from 2024 to 2027.
The wage agreement, effective from April 1, 2024, continuing through March 31, 2027, introduces a restructured comprehensive compensation framework that HMIL claims establishes new automotive sector standards. The settlement delivers an exceptional monthly salary enhancement of Rs 31,000, distributed across a three-year timeline following a structured approach of 55 per cent, 25 per cent, and 20 per cent implementation phases.
Beyond monetary benefits, HMIL highlighted its dedication to workforce wellbeing by maintaining superior healthcare provisions and cutting-edge wellness initiatives for all employees.
"At Hyundai, our people are the cornerstone of our success. This agreement, built on mutual trust, respect, and constructive dialogue, reflects our shared commitment to fostering a progressive workplace culture that prioritises employee welfare and supports long-term organisational growth," Youngmyung Park, Function Head, People Strategy at HMIL, said in a statement.
The United Union of Hyundai Employees serves as the officially recognised representative organisation for HMIL's workforce, having obtained registration status in 2011. Current membership statistics as of August 31, 2025, show 1,981 active members, including 90 per cent of the technician and workmen categories.
