The Concept Three marks Hyundai’s entry into the compact EV segment in Europe.
Hyundai Motor Company today introduced Concept Three, its first compact electric vehicle under the Ioniq sub-brand, at the IAA Mobility 2025 show in Munich.

This sleek concept marks Hyundai’s entry into the European compact EV segment – an area increasingly driven by urbanisation, environmental mandates, and the demand for practical mobility solutions. Through Concept Three, Hyundai aims to bring emotional resonance to eco-friendly design, ushering in a new chapter for the brand’s design narrative.

The vehicle embraces Hyundai’s Art of Steel design language: sculptural contours and clean lines that reflect the malleability and strength of steel. Its "Aero Hatch" profile enhances aerodynamics with three expressive surfaces and a vertical tailgate – perfect for city life. Meanwhile, Parametric Pixel light elements – front and rear – offer a dynamic rhythm and immersive visual character

Returning to IAA Mobility after a four-year absence, Hyundai set up a striking booth – seven meters tall, clad in blue glass, and inspired by Parametric Pixel motifs. The showcase features its full European EV portfolio, including Concept Three, the Insteroid concept, and Ioniq models such as IONIQ 9. Attendees can test drive nine vehicles, ranging from compact models like the Kona Electric and IONIQ 5 to three-row SUVs like the Ioniq 9 and Inster Cross.

Hyundai Motor Europe President and CEO Xavier Martinet encapsulated the moment: “Returning to IAA Mobility after four years away is a true milestone. Concept Three represents the next step in Hyundai Motor’s electrification journey. With its compact dimensions and Art of Steel design language, it embodies our vision of delivering mobility that is practical, accessible and emotionally resonant.”

Concept Three signals Hyundai’s ambition to expand its EV footprint in Europe – supporting its broader electrification strategy, which includes offering an electrified version of every model in Europe by 2027 and rolling out 21 EV models globally by 2030.
