In a bid to enhance the user experience, Apple is set to introduce a new "BatteryIntelligence" feature on the iPhone, which will provide users with estimated charging time notifications. This upcoming capability, as spotted in the second iOS 18.2 beta by 9to5Mac, aims to give iPhone users a better understanding of their device's charging progress.

The "BatteryIntelligence" feature, currently in development, is designed to let iPhone users to receive notifications that display an estimated time to reach specific charge levels, such as 80 per cent.
Although not yet fully functional, this framework indicates that Apple is actively working on a smarter battery monitoring tool, which may make its debut in future iOS beta releases or updates.
Notably, this new feature will bring the iPhone closer to the charging time estimation capabilities already available on many Android smartphones.
The ability to see how long it takes to charge has become increasingly helpful for users, considering the diverse range of chargers, cables, and charging protocols available in the market.
Newer iPhones already offer some helpful battery health features, such as the optimised charging setting introduced last year for the iPhone 15 and later models, which helps extend battery longevity by limiting charging to 80 per cent.
Additionally, users can now access their iPhone's battery cycle count, providing valuable insights into the battery's overall condition.
