LG Electronics has announced the global rollout of its latest innovative product, the StanbyME Go suitcase TV, at the IFA Berlin trade show. The StanbyME Go packs a 27-inch touch display and a 20W four-channel speaker system into a portable carrying case.
Building upon the portability of LG's original StanbyME model, the StanbyME Go lets users enjoy entertainment on the go. The built-in battery provides up to 3 hours of use without connecting to external power. The carrying case provides both portability and protection for the screen and other components. In addition, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support offer an immersive viewing experience.
According to LG, the StanbyME Go can be used indoors or outdoors for activities like watching movies, playing games, and more. The screen can be tilted to adjust the viewing angle, rotated from landscape to portrait orientation, and adjusted in height up to 18cm. A Table Mode also lays the screen flat to play board games or use the virtual record player.
LG states the StanbyME Go passed 11 tests to meet the U.S. military's MIL-STD-810G standard for durability. This testing covered factors like drops, vibration, and extreme temperatures.
The StanbyME Go runs LG's webOS platform and can connect with smartphones. Voice recognition enables hands-free control of apps, sound, and browsing.
LG's StanbyME Go is currently available for preorder online in the U.S. with an estimated ship date of October 16th. It will then roll out to Europe and other key markets next month.
