The Bangalore facility features more than 210 individual charging points.
ChargeZone has officially launched India's biggest electric vehicle (EV) charging facility in Bangalore, marking an expansion of the country's EV infrastructure network, says a report by Express Drives. The new installation, in Beguru, Chikkanahalli, Bandikodegehalli Amanikere, Karnataka, marks a new benchmark for charging capacity and capabilities in the Indian EV market.
The Bangalore facility features more than 210 individual charging points, creating the highest concentration of EV chargers at any single location across India. The installation includes 80 DC fast charging units with 160 charging outlets, complemented by 50 AC charging stations providing 50 additional outlets for various vehicle types.
The facility's impressive 4-megawatt total installed capacity positions it among India's most powerful electric vehicle charging installations. This substantial power infrastructure enables simultaneous high-speed charging for diverse electric vehicle categories, including passenger cars, inter-city electric buses, and commercial electric trucks.
ChargeZone's leadership emphasised the facility's role in advancing India's electric transportation goals. "This hub represents a significant milestone in our mission to advance India's electric mobility," Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO, ChargeZone was quoted as saying by Express Drives.
"It is more than just a charging facility; it is a comprehensive ecosystem built to meet the evolving needs of electric vehicle users nationwide. As EV adoption accelerates, reliable, fast, and accessible charging infrastructure becomes essential."
The charging hub incorporates extensive driver-focused amenities designed to enhance the overall charging experience. Planned facilities include restroom facilities, drinking water access, comfortable waiting areas, and spacious parking arrangements capable of accommodating large commercial vehicle fleets without creating congestion issues.
These amenities address common concerns about extended charging times and provide a comfortable environment for both individual drivers and fleet operators during vehicle charging sessions.
The facility operates through ChargeZone's integrated technology platform, delivering comprehensive digital services to users. The system includes real-time monitoring capabilities, mobile application-based access controls, and sophisticated safety management systems to ensure reliable operation across all charging scenarios.
This technological integration enables users to locate available charging points, monitor charging progress, and manage payments through digital platforms, streamlining the entire charging process for both individual and commercial users.
The Bangalore hub's launch represents a significant advancement in India's electric vehicle infrastructure development. The facility's scale and capabilities address key challenges in EV adoption, including charging speed, availability, and reliability concerns that have historically limited electric vehicle uptake in commercial and personal transportation sectors.
