The Indian driver delivered a decisive second stint to win the Italian GT Sprint race.

Mahaveer Raghunathan secured victory for AF Corse (Ferrari’s GT3 team) at Vallelunga, winning the second race of the Italian GT Sprint Championship alongside teammate Lorenzo Ferrari in their Ferrari 296 GT3. The Indian claimed both overall GT3 victory and the GT3 PRO-AM class.

Starting from Ferrari's pole position, the AF Corse duo initially lost the lead when Ferrari was overtaken at the start. However, Ferrari maintained close contact with the leading Lamborghini throughout his stint, setting up Raghunathan perfectly for the driver changes.

Raghunathan emerged from the pit stops in the lead and immediately built a decisive advantage. His consistent pace proved unstoppable as rivals failed to close the gap, with the Indonesian benefiting from battles behind him in the closing stages. The victory came ahead of the VSR Lamborghini of Frassineti-Liberati in second and Imperiale Racing's Denes-Bowen in third, though the latter received an eight-tenths penalty for an irregular driver change.

Raghunathan's triumph marks a strong championship start for the AF Corse squad, bouncing back after BMW won the opening race. The team demonstrated excellent race execution, combining Ferrari's qualifying pace with Raghunathan's decisive second-stint performance.

The next round takes place at Mugello in mid-July, where Raghunathan will look to build on this Vallelunga success.
