To boost tourism in Uttarakhand, the state government announced Himalaya Airsafari, a one-of-a-kind initiative offering an opportunity to explore the state's landscapes from a new perspective. On Saturday, the department conducted a successful flight test of the country's first gyrocopter in Haridwar. This milestone achievement paved the way for the official commencement of the Himalaya Airsafari. The necessary approvals have been obtained from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, ensuring the safety and compliance of the gyrocopter operations.
Colonel Ashwini Pundir, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, who participated in the gyrocopter flight test, expressed his excitement about the upcoming Himalayan Airsafari initiative. He envisions it as a transformative experience that will enable tourists to travel between different locations while immersing themselves in the breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the gyrocopters imported from Germany will play a pivotal role in connecting tourists with Uttarakhand. These advanced aircraft will provide a unique vantage point, allowing visitors to see the majestic Himalayan range and the serene rivers that flow through the state.
The tourism department has collaborated with the civil aviation department and respective district magistrates and is actively working on developing special airstrips at various scenic locations across the state. These airstrips will ensure access to the gyrocopters, allowing tourists to embark on their aerial adventures easily.
With the successful flight test and plans for dedicated airstrips, the state is poised to become a premier destination for those seeking an extraordinary journey amidst the grandeur of the Himalayas.
