Intel counts India as one of its major engineering bases.
Intel unveiled a range of new products manufactured in India using its silicon at the tech ecosystem summit held in New Delhi. The event brought together local OEMs who are actively involved in designing and producing products within India, demonstrating Intel's commitment to the Make in India initiative championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. One notable product showcased at the event was the Mega Networks server, which utilises the 4th generation Intel Xeon scalable processor developed and manufactured in India. Additionally, the event highlighted the high-performance compute server Rudra by C-DAC. Google's ChromeOS executives also announced that their Make in India HP Chromebook is powered by Intel chipsets.

"Developing electronics manufacturing expertise in the country requires engineering leadership, ecosystem collaboration and production at scale across a variety of segments. Intel is committed to bring these facets together. Today's showcase is a culmination of that commitment - highlighting the capabilities from the local ecosystem and products from customers. Make in India initiative will bring diverse engineering disciplines to the forefront, one that will bring innovation and production leadership together to serve India and global market. Intel has worked with local ecosystem across Cloud/Data centre, Network, PC and Edge to understand, learn and enable critical capabilities needed for high volume electronics product manufacturing in India,” said Gokul V Subramaniam, Intel India President & Vice President, Client Computing Group.
The event also featured consumer-centric products from indigenous PC manufacturer Air, including a notebook with a full aluminium chassis based on the 12th generation chipset called the Falcon, priced below Rs 40,000. Another notable device was the Edu 11 One notebook, which offers a yoga-style design with an 11-inch screen powered by the Celeron chipset, a rotating camera, and an IP54 water and dust-resistant polycarbonate frame. This device is expected to be priced below Rs 30,000 and comes with a full licensed version of Windows 11.
Various other local vendors, such as Optiemus, Zebroinics, Panache, and Wings, also showcased their notebooks designed and manufactured in India.
The event's keynote address was delivered by S Krishnan, the secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Krishnan urged Intel's executives to establish a fabrication facility in India, a possibility that was previously explored by the chipset giant 15 years ago.
