A scooter that breaks all the rules with its wild and crazy design!
Italian scooter manufacturer Italjet has unveiled the Dragster 700. It's a radical departure from the traditional scooter design. This limited edition machine has a monstrous 700cc engine, sporty design, and top-shelf components, blurring the lines between a scooter and a motorcycle.
The Italjet Dragster 700 throws out the traditional scooter rulebook with its radical, motorcycle-inspired design. Clip-on handlebars and a split seat are more reminiscent of a sports bike. The exposed frame gives it a raw and aggressive look that wouldn't be out of place on a superbike. Quirky touches like a pair of winglets flank the headlight, adding a touch of aerodynamic aggression. The exhaust ditches the usual scooter location on the side and instead snakes its way under the seat for an outlaw look. All in all it looks like a sharp aggressive scooter that defies all conventional looks of a scooter.
At the heart of the Italjet Dragster 700 lies a 700cc parallel-twin engine. It's a far cry from the smaller, single-cylinder units found in its lower version. This powerhouse cranks out nearly 70 bhp and 70 Nm, placing it in motorcycle territory. The specs should translate to thrilling acceleration and exhilarating performance. The Dragster 700 promises a ride experience closer to a high-performance motorcycle, blurring the lines between categories and redefining the scooter for the thrill-seeker.
The Italjet Dragster 700 isn't just about the engine, the underpinnings are equally impressive, designed to handle the power and deliver a precise, confidence-inspiring ride. A robust frame provides a solid foundation, while high-performance a Marzocchi USD fork up front and a fully adjustable Ohlins shock absorber in the rear ensure the suspension can handle aggressive riding. Braking performance matches the power, with twin discs at the front gripped by Brembo callipers. The large 15-inch wheels wrapped in performance tyres offer a good balance of agility and stability.
Italjet is currently selling the Dragster 700 scooter only in Europe. The price for the standard model is £ 10,900 (approx ₹ 11.78 lakh). There's also a special edition called the Limited Factory Edition, which costs £ 12,600 (approx ₹ 13.6 lakh). Also, it is limited to 700 units and that makes it even more desirable to collectors. The Dragster 700 is a head-turner for scooter enthusiasts seeking a powerful and unconventional ride. However, the price tag and limited availability may restrict its appeal to a niche market.
