Although mechanically the same, the Jawa 42 Bobber and Perak differ from each other very subtly and distinctively.
Jawa has been on an update spree and the latest to be updated was the Jawa Perak and its contemporary Jawa 42 Bobber. Both look the same, but with distinct designs and stylings, both bikes represent two lineages from the brand.

While the Jawa 42 Bobber represents the marque’s Neo Retro collection, the Jawa Perak is part of the Heritage collection. The former is characterised by three glossy and one chrome colour options. The Perak continues with just one colour option which was recently updated to a black/matte grey option with dual-tone finish.

Furthermore, for 2024 the Jawa Perak has gained a few new subtle aesthetic touches like the new brass ‘Perak’ badges on both sides of the fuel tank, a new fuel cap ring, and clear lenses on the indicator.

Meanwhile, while some of the variants of the Jawa 42 Bobber have received a price cut, some have gone dearer. Additionally, Jawa has also introduced two new variants with the existing Mystic Copper and Jasper-red dual-tone colour variants now also available with diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Aside from these aesthetic differences, the Jawa 42 Bobber has LED headlight, and a digital console, and the tail light is mounted on the fender. The Jawa Perak keeps matter retro with the halogen headlight, analogue instrument cluster, and the tail light is neatly integrated under the floating seat.

Mechanically, both are powered by the same 334 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 29 bhp and 30 Nm, and comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Neatly nestled inside the dual-cradle frame both the Jawa 42 Bobber and Jawa Perak are sprung by 37 mm telescopic fork and monoshock absorber with a 7-step preload adjustability. Brakes are also the same in both bikes with 280/ 240 mm front/rear discs with dual-channel ABS available as standard.

The 2024 Jawa Perak is priced from ₹2.13 lakh, the 2024 Jawa 42 Bobber is priced from ₹2.09 lakh and goes up to ₹2.29 lakh with the Black Mirror variant.
