The Jawa 42 FJ is priced between ₹1.99 lakh and ₹2.20 lakh and is available with five colour options.
The new Jawa 42 FJ is quite an attractive motorcycle, especially in the heavily populated roadster segment. It looks beefy and rides on chunky wide tyres. It might not pack in a gamut of features, however, it packs in the essentials to look and feel like a proper modern roadster. Priced from ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards, the new Jawa 42 FJ is available in two distinct variants. While the base variant comes with spoke wheels, the top variant equips alloy wheels. However, the differences between these two extend beyond the obvious. How so? We explain below:
The Jawa 42 FJ with the spoke wheels comes equipped with tube tyres. Additionally, it is available with just one colour option—Aurora Green Matte. This model is priced at ₹1.99 lakh, thus pitching it directly against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 base variant. The latter is also priced at ₹1.99 lakh but gets the benefit of two colour options—Madras Red and Jodhpur Blue.

Unlike the spoke wheel variant, the Jawa 42 FJ with alloy wheels (with machined finish) rides on tubeless tyres. Additionally, it is available in five colour options: Aurora Green Matte, Mystique Copper, Cosmo Blue Matte, Deep Black/Matte Black Clad, and Deep Black/Matte Red Clad. The asking price for these variants starts from ₹2.10 lakh onwards and goes up to ₹2.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Beyond these differences, all variants are the same in terms of features and powertrain. The Jawa 42 FJ is powered by a 334 cc Alpha-II single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 28.7 bhp and 29.62 bhp and comes paired with a 6-speed transmission. Just like the newly launched Yezdi Adventure and the Jawa 350, the Jawa 42 FJ also gets the same gear-based engine mapping that ensures a smooth yet paunchy power delivery. On the features front, it packs in all-LED lighting and a fully digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity (sadly, turn-by-turn navigation is not available). Along with that, with disc brakes on both ends, the Jawa 42 FJ is available with dual-channel ABS as standard.
