Jio aims to roll out AirFiber services in 100+ cities over the next 12 months.
Reliance Jio has officially launched its integrated wireless home broadband service - JioAirFiber, across eight metro cities in India. JioAirFiber aims to expand Jio's home broadband market by providing connectivity without the need for physical fiber infrastructure until the customer's premises. The AirFiber service is being rolled out in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. Jio aims to roll out AirFiber services in 100+ cities over the next 12 months.
JioAirFiber leverages Jio's extensive fiber backbone and Free Space Optics (FSO) technology to deliver speeds of up to 1 Gbps wirelessly to customer homes within a range of 3-10 km from the tower.
It provides integrated services like HD TV with 550+ channels, 16+ OTT apps, indoor WiFi coverage, and smart home solutions for security, education, healthcare and more. Users also get a 4K set-top box and voice-controlled smart remote bundled with the AirFiber plan.
Customers need to register for JioAirFiber on the Jio website or mobile app to avail the services. Once the area is enabled, Jio technicians install the wireless equipment at the customer's home.
Interested customers need to give a missed call on 60008-60008 to book AirFiber on WhatsApp.
Alternatively, you can visit jio.com to register or visit a Jio Store near you.
To book your Jio AirFiber connection, register on the website and pay ₹100 as a booking amount.
After registering, Jio will get in touch and begin the installation process.
Initially, Jio takes 24-48 hours to respond to AirFiber bookings.
Speaking at the launch of JioAirFiber, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, said, "JioAirFiber will enable millions of homes with world-class digital entertainment, smart home services and broadband through its solutions across education, health, surveillance and smart home."
