JSW MG Motor has successfully expanded into luxury and EV segments in India.
JSW MG Motor India closed calendar year 2025 on a positive note, reporting a 19 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in overall wholesales compared to 2024. The automaker sold 70,554 units during the January–December 2025 period, reflecting steady demand across its internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) portfolios. December 2025 contributed 6,500 wholesale units, underlining sustained end-of-year momentum.
In November 2025, MG Motor India sold 5,754 units, thus recoding a 13% month-on-month (MoM) growth, supported by continued traction in both EVs and core ICE models. On YoY basis, the 19 percent growth in CY2025 highlights a meaningful improvement over CY2024, positioning JSW MG Motor India among the faster-growing mass-market automakers.
MG’s EV portfolio remained a key growth pillar through December 2025. The company crossed the milestone of 100,000 cumulative EV sales, reinforcing its leadership in India’s electric passenger vehicle market. The MG Windsor, described as India’s best-selling electric car in 2025, retained its top position in the passenger EV segment.

On an MoM basis, EV demand remained resilient in December, supported by Windsor's sustained volumes and a growing acceptance of MG’s EV ecosystem. YoY cumulative EV sales growth reflects a strong expansion versus December 2024 levels, although specific monthly EV comparisons were not disclosed.
The standout performer in December was MG Select, the brand’s luxury retail channel. MG Select recorded a 38 percent MoM growth in wholesales, making it the most clearly defined MoM gainer within MG’s portfolio. This growth was driven by customer response to the M9 Presidential Limousine and the Cyberster, positioned as the world’s fastest MG.

From a YoY perspective, MG Select’s rapid expansion—launched less than a year ago — marks a sharp increase versus December 2024, when the channel was either absent or at a much smaller scale.

The ICE portfolio continued to provide volume stability in December 2025. The launch of the MG Hector at an introductory price of ₹11.99 lakh supported showroom footfalls and contributed to steady month-on-month performance. Compared to December 2024, the refreshed Hector range added incremental appeal in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
