The replacement to the Ninja 400, the new Kawasaki Ninja 500 carries forward the same ex-showroom price as its predecessor.
The replacement to the Ninja 400 is here for Kawasaki has launched the new Ninja 500. Priced at ₹5.24 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), it is the most expensive option in a segment that includes the likes of the Aprilia RS 457, Yamaha R3, and the KTM RC 390. Here are some of the key highlights of the new Ninja.
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 looks bulkier than the Ninja 400 with a new fairing design. The face is also different courtesy of the two newly compact headlights. The raised tail section continues with that sleeky design, and the two-piece seat remains as it is. Interestingly, for the Indian market, the Ninja 500 is listed with just one colour option, i.e. Metallic Spark Black.
The engine capacity has also increased in the Ninja 500. It is now powered by a 451 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, engine whic produces 44 bhp at 9000 rpm and 42.6 Nm at 6000 rpm. The same mill in the same tune is also available with the Kawasaki Eliminator 450. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed gearbox.

The engine is nestled inside a trellis frame that is suspended by non-adjustable 41 mm telescopic fork and gas-charged monoshock with preload. The single front disc size is bigger in the Ninja 450 compared to the Ninja 400 at 310 mm. The 220 mm rear disc also gets a dual-piston caliper like the front disc.
Also new with the Kawasaki Ninja 500 is the 5-inch TFT display on board that gets Bluetooth connectivity via the Rideology app that will get you the basic connectivity features like accept/reject call, notification alert, and riding logs. LED headlights with a low beam projector, LED indicators, and tail lights are the other key feature highlights.

With the new Kawasaki Ninja 500 already listed on the Kawasaki India website, bookings have already commenced. And the new models will start arriving in showrooms in the coming weeks.
