The Kawasaki ADV will be heavily localised for a competitive price tag.
Kawasaki's Versys-X 300 adventure bike had been previously spotted testing in India and now it has made another appearance hinting at a potential launch in the coming months. Kawasaki is set to expand its adventure touring lineup in India with the upcoming launch of the Versys X-300 and another smaller 230cc offering. Repeated sightings of the motorcycle undergoing testing on Indian roads have fueled anticipation among biking enthusiasts.
Designed for both on and off-road adventures, the Versys X-300 has a rugged and capable appearance. It has a tall stance and an aggressive front profile. There is a halogen headlight, unlike an LED offering that is seen on its rivals.

Recent spy shots reveal the Versys X-300 equipped with a hard-case pannier setup, suggesting that it may be offered as an optional accessory, further enhancing the bike's touring capabilities.

Mechanically it will remain the same. This means that Kawasaki Versys-X 300 will retain the same 296cc engine as the Ninja 300, producing 39 bhp and 26.1 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300's suspension and braking setup is also somewhat underwhelming, featuring a non-adjustable telescopic fork and monoshock. Additionally, the bike rides on 100/90-19 front and 130/80-17 rear wheels, paired with 290mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes. Wheels and brake might be localised as we had seen on the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

While specific details about the India-spec model are still under wraps, expectations are high for a competitive price point. Kawasaki's focus on localisation is likely to result in cost reductions, making the Versys X-300 an attractive option unlike before when it was sold at ₹ 4.80 lakh
This has raised concerns about the bike's competitiveness in the sub-500cc adventure segment, where rivals like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Triumph Scrambler 400 X, and KTM 390 Adventure offer more impressive specs. The Versys-X 300's launch date and pricing are yet to be announced.
