The EV3 is the latest electric SUV from Kia and will be based on the E-GMP 800V architecture.

Not long after teasing the Kia EV6 facelift, the South Korean manufacturer has now teased its latest electric SUV, the EV3. Until now, Kia has only showcased the concept of the EV3 e-SUV. The EV3 electric SUV will make its global debut on May 23, 2024.

While the teasers don’t show much of the EV3, it does hint that the production version will be very similar to the concept. The teasers show a boxy design language, similar to the EV5 and EV9 e-SUVs. The EV3 will get the brand’s new LED DRL signature and vertically stacked headlamps. The taillamps also have been carried over from the EV3 concept.

The EV3 will be based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (EGMP) like the EV5, EV6 and EV9 but it is expected to come with a revised 800V architecture. While specifications haven’t been revealed, the EV3 is expected to come with multiple battery pack options as well as single- and dual-motor configurations.

The EV6 and EV9 have been successful models for Kia. In 2023, the South Korean marque sold more than 36,000 units of the EV6 and nearly 3,000 units of the EV9 in Europe. Both these models have also won accolades at the World Car Awards. In 2022, the EV6 GT was named the World Performance Car. In 2024, the EV9 won the World Car of the Year along with the World Electric Vehicle award.
