The upcoming Kia Seltos facelift is scheduled to make its Indian market debut on December 10, with the most substantial transformation the SUV has undergone since first being launched. Recent spy photographs have disclosed a more aggressive, upright design language coupled with extensive cabin modifications. Through this refresh, Kia intends to elevate the Seltos further within the mid-size SUV category by incorporating enhanced technology, upmarket appointments, and potentially introducing hybrid propulsion. The refreshed model is said to come with an angular profile, featuring an enlarged, square-edged front grille, vertical LED daytime running lights, re-sculpted front and rear bumpers, and fresh alloy wheel patterns. At the rear, updated LED tail-lamp clusters and a reimagined tailgate contribute to a more robust, commanding road presence.
The cabin is anticipated to receive a comprehensively redesigned dashboard incorporating a more streamlined arrangement, higher-quality trim materials, an expanded infotainment display, and modified seating designed for superior comfort. Additional enhancements likely include improved connectivity systems, expanded Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) functionality, and dual-tone interior trim options.
The mechanical lineup is projected to retain the established 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Significantly, a strong-hybrid system -- previously identified in earlier prototype sightings -- may debut within the range for the first time. Transmission selections should maintain manual, intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), and automatic variants, featuring improvements for enhanced fuel economy and refined drivability.
Following its arrival, the redesigned Seltos will compete against established rivals including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and Tata Curvv. With its refreshed aesthetics, possible hybrid capability, and comprehensively equipped interior, the next-generation Seltos seeks to consolidate Kia's position within the fiercely contested mid-size SUV segment.
