The test mule looks production-ready and hints towards an imminent launch
Kinetic Green is likely on the verge of launching a new electric scooter. This could be an urban commuter offering. This buzz follows the recent sighting of a new electric scooter, possibly from Kinetic Green, undergoing testing near Pune, India.
The Kinetic Green test mule sported a design that appeared production-ready. Key features included a large seat, 12-inch wheels and a hub-mounted electric motor. The hub motor means that the cost will be kept low and there will be a potentially competitive price point for this upcoming scooter. While there is no confirmation whether the test mule is an upcoming Kinetic Green product, but given the fact that Kinetic has confirmed a new electric scooter launch in 2024 and the fact that it was spotted testing near its R&D facility, it’s likely to be a Kinetic Green electric scooter.
Interestingly, this is not the first time this scooter has been spotted testing. Earlier sightings near Pune hint at a well-developed prototype undergoing endurance tests. This also says Kinetic Green is in the final stages of readying this new offering for the Indian market.
The design of the spotted scooter leans towards a compact form factor. This could be intended for navigating city streets and handling shorter commutes. The focus on urban mobility is a departure from some of Kinetic Green's previous offerings that catered more towards B2B applications.
In terms of features, we are expecting a digital display with connected features, LED lighting for enhanced visibility, and potentially various riding modes to cater to different riding styles and preferences.
Considering the booming electric scooter market in India, Kinetic Green is likely aiming for competitive pricing. The launch is expected in the next few months to capitalise on this growing trend. The pricing is expected to align with its current Flex model which retails for approximately ₹ 1,09,000 (ex-showroom).
